Hood River resident Dr. Andreas von Flotow recently accepted an invitation to serve on the board of directors for CenterPointe Community Bank. Dr. von Flotow, who holds a PhD in aerospace engineering from Stanford University, is an accomplished research entrepreneur in multiple disciplines of science and technology, specifically aeronautical and space applications as well as other technologies. Among Dr. von Flotow’s accomplishments are as author or co-author of more than 100 published papers, 25 patents and the successful supervision of 7 PhD students while teaching at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Von Flotow was a founder and principal at Insitu prior to its acquisition by Boeing; is involved in numerous business and investment interests; and is President and Chairman at Hood Technology, a company he founded in 1993.
